Hussein is an innovative, bold, and tech-savvy C-Level executive with 22 years of experience in
logistics, supply chain, and operations in the Middle East and Africa.

Passionate about service excellence and leadership, Hussein is a strong believer that people are the enablers of high-performance cultures. He has a proven track record in several industries such as shipping, transportation, logistics, supply chain, e-commerce, last mile and digital transformations within logistics to name a few.

He is currently the Founder and CEO of PlugMena, a practical advisory firm that aims to support clients in the region with their growth and transformation projects.

In his last corporate role, Hussein served as Fetchr’s rescue CEO, the first UAE tech-enabled delivery and logistics company. Prior to this, Hussein served as a full-time advisor at the UAE’s Prime Minister’s Office in Dubai where he worked very closely with the federal government services team in developing and transforming government services across channels together with improving the resident experience while bridging between the Public and the Private sectors.

Prior to this, Hussein worked in several executive roles within multinationals such as UPS where he served as the Managing Director for the Middle East.​

Hussein started his career with the global logistics giant Aramex in 2001, and he has since risen through the ranks. From junior country manager, he made it to regional CEO for the gulf – the region with the

highest market share where he was overseeing an operation of more than 4000 employees regionally.

Hussein holds a degree in Business Administration from Beirut Arab University, and has completed a number of executive development and management programmes, including an Executive Advanced Strategic Management program from IMD (International Institute for Management Development) in Lausanne, Switzerland.​

A member of several advisory boards and a passionate public speaker Hussein contributed to several events as a keynote speaker and panelist. He is an active member in the entrepreneurship community & a mentor to several promising startups in the region.
